Tulum, Mexico, Fly Fishing Day Trip Charters to Ascension Bay and Boca Paila. We provide full day trips from Tulum or from Punta Allen. We can pick you up by skiff from Tulum and you can fish Permit Alley and El Rio, or you can drive to Punta Allen and fish Ascension Bay proper. Either trip includes all licenses and taxes, a full lunch for two, and a cooler full of ice and bottled water.
Total cost is $675US total for one or two anglers max. If you will not have a rental car, we can arrange roundtrip transportation to the dock from most locations in Tulum for $125US.
Pick-up in Tulum is by skiff at the Ultimo Maya Campground, located 3 kilometeres South of the entrance to the Sian Ka’an National Park (you will drive under a huge stone arch and it is also where the road turns to dirt). Trips start at 8:30am and the skiff returns at 4:30pm. That is a full 8 hour day of fishing in one of the greatest places on earth for a Super Slam. If you choose to drive to Punta Allen, trips start at 8:00am and can include breakfast at an extra charge if you arrive early. Punta Allen day trips include a free Lupita Margarita after you return to the dock.
If you are a first time fly fishing novice or an old salt, we will make sure that you have lots of opportunities at sight casting to schools of bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook, jacks, and all critters that swim.
The beauty of Boca Paila and Ascension Bay is that the wind will never keep you from fishing. The Bay’s strategic position ensures you will always have a lee side to fish unmolested by windy conditions.
